Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart Tee www.chelceytate.com

I've expressed my love for the brand Natural Life before, so it's only natural (get it?) that I was immediately hooked on this t-shirt the moment I saw it at Altar'd State. It's loose fitting, simple, and a good tee is the perfect piece for all seasons. Oh, and these majorly ripped jeans and sandals? They're a definite staple for me this time of year. As in, I pretty much wear them every other day.

I think my favorite part about wearing this shirt is that I'm pretty much a walking advertisement for following your heart. Y'all know I'm ALL about encouraging people to make their biggest dreams a reality -- trust me, I know that following your heart isn't always an easy thing to do, but shouldn't it be?

I think one of my biggest hang ups in seeing someone that's unhappy is the fact that they truly do have the power to turn it all around. Now, let me me clarify that statement by saying that I'm not talking about being depressed or dealing with anxiety, that's a completely different story. I'm talking about not being happy with certain situations in your life.

Think about it this way; YOU are in charge of your own life ... I say this a lot, but you really can do whatever you want! Not happy with your current job? Take the steps necessary to remove yourself from that situation. Dealing with a friendship (or relationship) that's draining every ounce of you emotionally? Have the hard conversation to remove that negativity from your life. You have total control to change whatever situation that you find yourself unhappy in.

I know that these things are a whole lot easier said than done, but as cliche as it sounds, life is too short to not follow your heart. Some may say that I follow my heart too much, and I tend to ignore the down sides of making those tough decisions, but I see it as something that just has to be done. I'm a small picture kind of gal, so when there's one thing that I can't get off my mind that's causing me stress, it's all I can focus on. I get totally fixated on the problem until I've done something about it. Sometimes this is a really awful way to go about doing things, but in situations like this, I'm thankful for my tendency to be stubborn and get fixated on things.

Are you experiencing something in your life that has you feeling like you just need to follow your heart? Need some encouragement, or know a friend who does? Reach out to me, or share this post! I'd love to talk to you about it.
