Who the heck knew that having a baby can totally change your hair? Because I was blissfully unaware. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I knew that my easy going locks would thicken up and my hair would be total goals worthy while I was pregnant, but I was SO not prepared for what happened after I had Em! Losing massive chunks of hair everyday, texture changes, all of the baby hair new growth coming in to replace the hair that was falling out in clumps ... yeah, it's been fun. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

But since we're all about looking at the bright side over here, can I get a big amen that the change of my hair texture means going longer between washes!? I honestly hate washing my hair ... always have, always will. It's not even the actual washing part as much as it's the whole process of drying my hair. ๐Ÿ˜… I know I can't be the only one, and the invention of my BFF dry shampoo is proof of that. โœŒ๏ธ

I've come up with a new routine over the last couple of months that's been working like magic for me, and I honestly think it has EVERYTHING to do with the products I've been using! I wash my hair every 5-7 days, wear it down and wavy for most of that time (refreshing my waves after a few days), and then the last couple of days I'm typically rocking side braids with a baseball cap! Here's the scoop on the products I'm loving that have totally amped up my hair game!

Aveda Brilliant Shampoo + Conditioner

This combo will make you feel like you're fresh from the salon every time you use it! I go to an Aveda salon so that's how I discovered this set, but it seriously smells SO good! It also has that minty cool feeling on your scalp which is reason enough to use it in my opinion. My hair is less frizzy, and has a lot more "bounce" since I swapped out my old shampoo and conditioner for these!

Moroccanoil Root Boost

Big shoutout to my girl Jen over at The Sister Studio for introducing me to this magic in a bottle! I've had the hardest time achieving volume that lasts more than 15 minutes, and this stuff has totally changed the game! It's heat activated, and my hair is dramatically fuller from the time I dry it until day 3!

Aveda Volumizing Tonic

Voluminous hair is always the goal, am I right? This tonic lifts my hair from the roots, and is the most lightweight formula I've tried! It's another one that I picked up from the salon after my stylist used it on me, and I've been hooked ever since!
ย

Drybar Triple Sec

This is an old favorite of mine that has definitely stood the test of time! I'm not a huge fan of super clean feeling hair so as soon as I wash it I have to dirty it back up a little bit. ๐Ÿ˜‚ This is my all time favorite texturizing spray, and I use it every single time I'm about to leave the house! It adds a ton of body and texture without weighing my hair down which I love!
ย

Big Sexy Hair Powder Play Lite

Am I the only one who remembers Big Sexy Hair products from when I was a kid? My mom used to buy their mousse and hairspray religiously! I always feel a little nostalgic when I buy anything from this brand. I started using the Big Sexy Hair Powder Play Original when my hair was SUPER short (chin length + bleach blonde ๐Ÿ™ˆ), but now that my hair is long again that formula is just a little too thick / sticky for me. I found the Lite version at Ulta, and I'm obsessed! It has a little push top that squirts the powder product out evenly, and it's adds so much "oomph" and texture to my hair!

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I was so pumped when my mom introduced me to this dry shampoo! ๐Ÿ™Œ I was using the Drybar Detox in Brunette for a couple years because the formula didn't leave any white residue in my hair, but as often as I use dry shampoo (spoiler alert: it's A LOT ๐Ÿ˜‚), the Drybar version was breaking the bank a bit. The Batiste version is just as good, under $10, and I can pick it up at Target. โœŒ๏ธ I'm seriously obsessed! I use dry shampoo to add a little bit of life back into my hair after day 4, and then use it daily until I wash it again.

Kristin Ess Purple Shampoo + Conditioner

Another Target gem! ๐Ÿ™Œ I heard of Kristin Ess from Lauren Conrad, and seeing as LC is total #hairgoals, I knew Kristin's line had to be awesome! I've tried a few brands of blue and purple shampoo to keep my blonde from turning brassy, but none have worked nearly as well as this formula! I'm seriously blown away by it! I use it every other wash, and my hair stays nice and cool until I get it professionally toned at the salon again.

L'Orรฉal Magic Root Cover Up

I had to throw this product in here just for fun! It's not a part of my regular routine, but I'm absolutely obsessed with it. Having the titles of mama, wife, and business owner means getting into the salon on time to touch up my roots isn't always a top priority ... and that's where this product comes in to save the day! ๐Ÿ™Œ You literally just spray this stuff directly onto your roots like spray paint (๐Ÿ˜‚), and you're ready to walk out the door. I get the "dark brown" color, and it matches perfectly!
